The Eldon is a traditional city pub in Bristol, in the South West of England.
Just a stone’s throw from the bustle of The Clifton Triangle, its freehold was purchased from Ushers Brewery in 2006 by Rab Clarke, at the time a tenant of The Bridge Inn and one of the directors of local brewery Bath Ales. In bringing the pub into the 21st century the old cellar was incorporated into the main body of the pub, greatly increasing capacity. The beer offering was increased with 4 to 5 real ales being on offer all of the time. Three draught lagers, cider, stout, and a craft beer are also available.
Rab has brought years of experience and eye for contemporary quality and the pub is a well-loved local fixture, as well as a destination for people all over Bristol due its reputation for well kept real ale, reasonably priced quality cuisine and friendly atmosphere.
The pub continues to thrive! The combination of fabulous food, great friendly service and a warm family atmosphere has kept us busy through the winter months, we’ve been running a popular music night on Sundays, an excellent quiz night on Mondays, a monthly karaoke night (usually on a Saturday night) and once a year we host a street party for the residents of Lower Clifton Hill and surrounding streets. We have a new menu dude to start in April, the pub classics are having an overhaul and we’re adding a new Ploughman’s Menu as well.
Traditionally we concentrate more on the food over the Summer and hope to keep the busy buzz going on through till the nights get chilly again!
Children are welcome until 8pm (licensing laws, sorry!) and well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area.
Sunday roasts are served 12-5pm.
Food served 5-9pm Monday-Thursday and 12-2:30pm,5-9pm Friday & Saturday.
Certainly well worth a visit! We’re currently ranked 59th out of 1,164 restaurants in Bristol!
