The Eldon is a traditional city pub in Bristol, in the South West of England.

Just a stone’s throw from the bustle of The Clifton Triangle, its freehold was purchased from Ushers Brewery in 2006 by Rab Clarke,  one of the original directors of local brewery Bath Ales. In bringing the pub into the 21st century the old cellar was incorporated into the main body of the pub, greatly increasing capacity and the beer offering. The pub became a well-loved local fixture, as well as a destination for people all over Bristol due its reputation for well kept real ale, and friendly atmosphere.

Recently taken over by the team from the nearby Merchants Arms, the Eldon continues to thrive! Matt, Katie and Mike bring  years of passion for live music, pub-running and beer plus a strong connection with the local community. Their mission is to build upon the pub’s solid foundations with some fresh new ideas, raising the Eldon to it’s full potential as a both a classic local boozer and sought-after Bristol venue.

We still run our popular Monday quiz night and Sunday live-music sessions, and hope to continue the annual summer street party for the residents of Lower Clifton Hill and beyond. We currently have a selection of delicious bar snacks on offer to compliment your beverage, and the new team aim to have a full menu on offer by October 2019. Our legendary Sunday lunch will be returning imminently, keep an eye on our Facebook page where we will announce when we are open for bookings!
