Dom Martin is a 28yr old Belfast born singer/songwriter who has recently burst onto the UK scene amid high praise from those in the know with the release of his debut EP “Easy Way Out”.
His influences include the likes of Rory Gallagher, Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters.
Primarily a solo artist performing his own material he also sometimes gets together with his band The Furious Thirst who also cover a range of well known blues/rock songs including a full show paying homage to Rory Gallagher called “Rory’s Songbook”.
Dom plays regularly in Northern Ireland and is an annual performer at The Rory Gallagher Festival in Ballyshannon and other local festivals.
2018 has seen his debut as the headline act at The Enler Delta Blues Club Festival. He has also supported multiple award winner Kaz Hawkins at the Black Box in Belfast as part of the Belfast City Blues Festival. In mid August 2018 Dom made his mainland UK debut at the “Roots to Routes” Festival on Letchmore Heath near Watford. Dom played live on the BBC Radio 2 Blues Show on Monday 17th September, supported Elles Bailey and others in Fleet a week later and also supported Elles on her UK Tour in Bristol on 22nd November.
Dom is currently in Red Box Studios in Belfast to record his debut album and a UK/European tour is planned for 2019. The UK tour is planned for early April.
